OIL Everywhere!!

All right just got my oil changed and was drove it around a full day no problems or all at least I noticed. Well got to work today and noticed oil is all over my tailpipe and bumper so I crawled underneath my truck to notice there is oil everywhere and has everything drenced and I mean soaked. It lookes like it might be coming from above the transmission or around it I can't really tell there is so much. But the day before I checked my oil and it was right at the F in safe and I checked it at work thinking it might be motor oil and its still at the exact same mark hasn't moved a drop. So I am trying to figue out what this is maybe transmission is the only other thing I drove it around in the parking lot for a few secs and didn't notice any more dripping but I had my buddy come pick it up and tow it home and gonna have it looked at this weekend. SO what do you all think? Do you think I am into some major repairs here? This is on the 2005.

sounds like an injector is sticking and filling the crank with fuel which is coming out the blow by. what does the oil smell like? whats the consistency? if there is any hint of diesel in it, have it towed to the dealership before anymore damage is done...how many miles?

brett

EDIT: just read your sig...i dont think you have much warranty left and havent heard of very many of don m's injectors having problems, so i dont know whats going on

There is no hint of diesel fuel and with the injector sticking I checked the oil and there is no change in it at all I have checked it almost everyday since I got the truck back which has only been about 3 weeks. The Don M injectors have only been run for about 1400 miles thats it and only about 200 of them where with any chips. It doesn't look like it's coming out the blow by tube but it could be I don't know there is oil in the tube but I could not smell fuel and the texture of it didn't look like there was fuel in it so I am gonna have to rule that theory out any more suggestions any would be helpful. But with the level of the oil not changing at all I wouldn't think it would be an injector expecially one of Don's.

Thought I read at one time that the 06 had an issue with a trans? hose that was known to leak and it was common to have to tighten the hose clamp to stop the leak?

Sorry I'm not much help but I thought there was a thread about this? I could be wrong so mabey some one will step in and correct me and help you out.

This is going to sound crazy, but I had a seal blow out on my rear dif at the U-Joint while on the freeway. It had the same effect- oil everywhere. If that was it, the odor should make it obvious.

no real smell or at least I could tell, kinda windy today. Could it possiblt be from the tranny? It soaked the clutch and made it slip that is how I found it.

I had an 02 w/nv5600 blow the front seal out and cause what you are describing. If your oil level is fine I would be checking the level of the tranny.

Oil filter isn't loose, it looks like motor oil but kinda hard to tell what color would the tranny fluid be? I was thinking front seal in tranny but don't know.

Check the level of transmission. It looks like it holds about a gallon. I have an auto so do not know what type of oil is used in the manual transmission. Good luck.

The NV5600 uses a 5w-30 tranny lube so it does look like engine oil.

Check the drain hose from your turbo (where it goes into the block). I've seen them come loose and leak and it causes the same thing you're describing. It's just a push in fitting with 2 O-rings on it. Since you have an aftermarket turbo it's probably been pulled out and reinstalled.
