Not loving the edge off the line
Not loving the edge off the line
This box seems to really drag down the off the line power. After the convertor locks it takes off like no other. So I am not really happy with low end power still. So my question is will a Bully Dog or Smarty just do pressure at a low hp type thing. Since I would be stacking I do not want a 100hp pressure setting. Not sure how damage the quad Zxt was doind low end but at least it felt like it had power even though it was slipping past it all
I did that I pushed them all up to 5. I think it's seeing the trany slip and is defueling. But it seems worst than stock. The attitude stays on N until I get over 45mph. Then it reads a slip up to 9.5% Not sure if thats good or bad.

I would not recommend turning off the defueling. You need to get a TC and VB to safely use levels 4 and 5. Get the tranny upgraded and then get the "HOT" upgrade. Then you can power brake to around 6-8psi (a lot more if you have more to spend on the tranny for billet shafts) and you won't be disappointed any longer. I added the xzt and it helped a little but not much, but I also have 315s which kill your off line acceleration. I just bought an mp8 and will be on the dyno next week and hopefully be able to compare the mp8 to the xzt to see which makes more power sooner. By the way, a torque converter and valve body will also help your off line acceleration slightly all on their own.
Well I am starting to find the power curve. And I think my tranny is all done on the low end. First and second seemed to be slipping now. The road were wet today and I was behind a small dump truck that though he could use both lanes. So I pushed the edge up to 5 and floored it. Well the roads were wet and I fish tailed it a bit. but I got by him. Kinda scary though.
