NOOB Questions...
Hey everyone! This is my first post here. Living in Lafayette, IN and an engineer for Caterpillar. Just got my first diesel and lovin it! Few questions:
Looking into running aimsoil but only have 13k on the odometer. Should i wait awhile to wear in the engine? It has not been used to tow alot...yet.
Looking to find a used catalytic converter to hollow out, anyone know where i could find one? Id like to keep mine just in case for the future. Kitty Puked!
Will it void my warranty if i get a cat-back system?
I have read smarty is untraceable by the dealers. Is edge the same way? Just like edge for the monitoring.
Thanks!!!

Good morning and welcome to DTR! A cat back system shouldn't cause you any problems but pranking with the cat and discussing it here will. We do not allow discussions of how to illegally modify a Federally mandated emission system. OK, official stuff out of the way, have fun with your tuning............and your truck.
People debate back and forth about how long is enough break-in time before switching to AmsOil.
On our 02 D-Max, we switched it over as soon as its first oil change came up and we have had ZERO problems with it. Its already got 140,000 miles and for a time we had a 100hp chip on it and it still runs like the day we got it.
No matter when you decide to switch it over, please, PLEASE, run a GOOD engine flush through it.
Flush it twice if you must. Do what you can to get those old oil deposits out of that block and pan.

Have any dealer issues? Im obviously going to remove it if the dealer is needed, but curious if it left any footprints. Thanks for the help.
