Nitrous. Jet Sizes?
Nitrous. Jet Sizes?
i know everyone is different but there has to be a range on how much hp is givin with a serten jet size. so can you guys list your hp gains off of what ever jet sizes you have tride? any and all jet sizes, if you have dynoed with a size what hp gains did you see from them? thanks 4 the help guys.
Ive tried a .18 once and noticed very little, then a .24 little better, a .32 hit pretty hard and finally a .52 wich really hit hard. John P said a .52 on a 12v is around 80hp at the rear wheels this seems about right to me. I have split my sol. and placed a nozzle on each side of the CAC both starting with .24's for cooling and traction control and added a second kit for if i ever want it down track when traction is not as much concern, jetting has not been determined there yet, he he.
Unlike a gasser where you run a wet nozzel and fuel is injected with the nitrous on a diesel we just use nitrous. That being said you have many variables that effect HP.
These all make a huge difference in HP. Normally a small jet .020-.032 can be used to help spool a turbo with very little HP gain. If you have a ton of extar fuel as you go up you will really see a HP gain!
- Amount of fueling
- Type of nitrous setup
- Amount of air

yes, thanks 4 the info guys. i do know all of this but am just trying to get a ball park figure on the jets so i have somewhere to start when i hop on the dyno and start switch out jets.

DTR Members Jetpilot and stock600 have given you some good advice and stock600 has summarized what I have gained from jetting on my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve.
Here is a breakdown on my truck as well as my Sons 2004 Dodge CTD CR.
I am running a very simple "NX Express System" with a 10lb bottle, single NX solenoid, with a single NX Shark Nozzle and a .52 jet and I see 74 RWHP with the fuel etc. I am running. My nozzle is located pre-CAC and I use mostly -3 line. This is on my 96' Dodge CTD 12 valve. My Son, John Jr. has the 2004 Dodge CTD CR and is running a similar set-up, but he has two lines coming from the NX solenoid and going to two separate NX Shark Nozzles, one pre-CAC and the other in his airhorn, and he sees close to 80 RWHP. Neither of us use controllers, but are operating the system with Hobbs Switches and a WOT Throttle Switch on our accelerators. You can look at my signature to see how I am set-up on fueling, turbos etc. As Jetpilot said, it will not apply directly to you, but may give you some reference points.
Hope that helps you some.
