Nitrous jet sizes??

What size jets are yall running, and can you include what programmer or stack you're running with it?

I'd especially like to find someone else that's running the crazy larry/MP8 stack with nitrous.. I tried a single 54 jet last weekend and my mph picked up from 121.95 on diesel only to 126.39 on spray.. I have a 7x for possibly this weekend.. I definitely don't want to hurt the motor, but I also don't have an 0-ringed head.. I would hate to hurt that either... I know.. You play, you pay.. I just don't want the paying part if I can avoid it..

If you are going to run a .7x you need to hit the NOS when you have boost. Running that much does not like to come on with out boost or fueling. I run a .5x, a .6x and a .82. (all together progressively). A smaller jet will let you hit the spray sooner and spin that turbo right now. If you are running the Smarty, run it on level 8. It is too much timing for the amount of NOS i am spraying. I don't think the Crazy larry has as much timing as level 9 of the Smarty.

I run a lot of timing off the bottle (programmer, TST, EZ). On the bottle, I've learned to back off the timing.

I've got twins gated at 50 pounds, so it fogs the track with smoke. The 54 jet had no effect on that. It has serious traction issues, so I didn't hit the button until third gear around mid track. The track was horrible, so I'm hoping for some much better times soon.. 60' was 2.07, eighth was 7.66 at 100, quarter was 11.53 at 126.39. Chrleb1, do you run normal head studs? Are you running an 0-ringed head? Thanks..

I'm running the regular ARP 2000 studs right now. The head hasn't been removed. When I did the 870 run, i had a bad combination of things. The turbo couldn't wastegate enough to control the exhaust pressure, I was running the Smarty on level 9. and has the NOS come on hard. All of this made the head lift slightly. It puked about a 1 1/2 gallons out on the dyno when this happened. I got very lucky though. The head actually reseated itself and hasn't leaked since. I haven't put the juice to the motor since then. I've found that I can still run everything the way it is and keep the gasket happy without NOS.

The next motor will be going in the truck in a couple of weeks. It will be fire-ringed and have the Custom Age 625 studs. These studs are so much better. Also, it'll have a big compound (66 or S510) set up. It'll be wastegated at 75 lbs and still flow 1,900 cfm. When I change a couple of things on it, it will flow 2100 cfm at the same boost level.

I'm running an HX40/BHT3B setup from Joe Hellmann.. My top turbo is wastegated at 23 pounds, then it has a blow off set at 50. They are kind of dinosaurs in the turbo world, but they have been working great for me. I wanted the new age studs a while back, but needed them quickly.. I was told at the time it would be a few weeks so I had to go with the regular ones..

I have been running 2 stages. Both of which have .70+ sized jets. The 1st stage comes on out of the hole (WOT switch),and the 2nd stage is delayed for about 3.5 seconds. My head is fire-ringed. My concern is my turbo which is not gated. Boost PSI is out of hand. Your twins set up the way they are, I would say you would be OK with just headstuds, and 1 stage.

Congrats on the fast times an huge MPH. Good luck this weekend!

Always been a big fan of your truck.

Which housing are you running on the A5K? If your boost is too much, ATS has a bigger housing.

Yea I am running the 1.0. (? the bigger housing from the twin setup) I am seeing any where from 70 -75 psi. Just not sure how long it will hold on at that rate. I have plans to build a external wastegate setup for it. Hope that helps. I really don't want to spend the money for twins right now.

Thanks
John

ATS is suppose to be testing an even bigger housing for the 5000.

Yeah, you'll break the shaft pretty soon if you keep that up. That is what happened to ours.
