yea the MOOG tr end is the same size ..... he got all the parts at the same place .... I can find out were he got them... i dont think it was from napa

the other thing i ws looking at was the stearing box brace.... if anyone has any input on them.... i already had to replace the stearing box once already and was reading that they were a good upgrade to help with the shaft seal from blowing out

the bearings were NATIONAL'S and gteed for life

Is that a lifetime guarantee against workmanship/defect, or guaranteed to not wear out (normal wear and tear) for the life of the truck?

Every lifetime guarantee bearing I have seen is only against workmanship/defects, so if they wear out in 15K miles (from being cheap) then you get to buy a new set.

Ths steering box support is probably the one mod that is worth its weight in gold! If you search the forum, you'll find a ton of info. It was the best add-on I've done, feels like a new truck! Gimme a shout if you want to see what it looks like and how it fits. I grab coffee at the Stewarts by Curtis in Malta.

I installed XRF ball joints and they are now loose after only 5000 miles. Very disappointed in XRF. The stock joints lasted longer. Not sure what to put in now, thinking either Moog or Carli.

My stock balljoints finally pooped out at about 130k or so. The replacement Moogs lasted until 290k and now the XRF's have 10k on them and still nice and tight.....perhaps I'm just lucky or I installed everything correctly....it's a toss up.

I had XRF's installed last Aug 2011.I rotated my tires recently in the last month and when I was doing so,I grabbed the wheel at top and bottom and both left and right sides have very noticeable movement. No doubt about the movement so I don't know what to think.I did not install them i had a very reputable Truck shop do the job as I had balljoints, wheel bearings and u joints all done.Tires seem to be wearing fine truck drives fine so I don't know.Guess I will keep an eye on them.Mine r the non greasable 1s upper and lower.

Yeah, those are the ones I have. Same deal, I was rotating tires and noticed about an 1/8" movement on both sides. I'm going to wait and see how bad they get but I know for sure they will need replacing sooner than later. I'm thinking I may just go with some Moog's to save money. I have a hard time believing a Carli will last forever.

There is a reason why carli cost so much. As soon as you get a set of them in your hands you know why.

Hello,

Everyone does know that the upper bj's are designed to allow vertical motion right? Just wondering if the motion that people are seeing is in the vertical plane. If so it is correct and the bj is not worn out. Even the carli's are like this. Norris McQuay bj's are now sold thru the Raybestos Professional line. Very quality piece. They are one step down from the carli's but no where near the cost. I just bought all 4 for $220 shipped from Amazon. Part numbers 505-1311 and 500-1117. I also found Timken unit bearings part#HA590166 for $293 shipped from Parts Geek.
