A New Tire is out
I had purchased a set of Bridgestone A/T Revos for my Denali last year. At the time they were NOT available for my truck and I have been very impressed with this tire,.. the looks and the performance.
It became available about a month ago and I picked up a set of 285/70X17 LT 8 ply. What is really good about this tire is the speed rating for a tire that is 5 Star rated and will still carry the weight. Obviously you can find tires that can do something well but these seem to be able to cover all the bases and will work for most of us.
You can check them out on www.tirerack.com

yeah I have checked those out , I run Bridgestones on my BMW M3 & love them !
Bridgestone's seem to wear better then most others and performance is excellent
Pirelli also has a tire very similar that is speed rated @ 118 mph avail in 285/70/17 & 265/70/17

The Pirelli Tire
I'm not a puller but I have had these off-road once since I had them and they can definitely do the job. I bet this would be a great puller's tire. Not overly aggressive like a MT but a lot of multiple angled lugs for grabbing.

Why another D-rated tire?
Great looking tire, with precise build characteristics. Unfortunately my D-rated Bridgestone AT's on my '99 blewout and caused $3300 damage in maybe 15 sec. Load rating was 3305# and my vehicle load was 2200# per tire. Tires had maybe 30,000 and showed excellent wear characteristics. Flats were also a big problem. I'd buy these new ones in a second for an F-150 though. I've gotta insist on "E's" after my experience in my '99. These motors are very heavy.

I like e rated tires as well the stiffer side wall at speed seems to be quite a bit more stable
