New Superchips Beta testing

I got an E-mail wednesday from Craig Ancel at Superchips about beta testing a new Firefly programmer. Here's what he said he's sending: Superchips Firefly for 2004.5 - 2006 Dodge RAM Cummins (Kit includes): New technology Lazer Gauge with EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) and Turbo Boost Display Inline Power Module offering 3 “On-The-Fly” Power Settings, plus stock EGT Probe for installation into exhaust man. Anybody else get the message??

So my guess is that if anything goes terriably wrong I am on my own! That is the idea of Beta testing right? And I am supposed to report if anything goes wrong... has anyone else done this and regretted it?

Usually they have done extensive testing before putting it on a beta vehicle. I don't think I have ever heard of someone having a catastrophic failure from beta testing anything, so I don't know who would be responsible.

However if it were me and I knew for a fact that the product I was testing caused the failure, I would expect for them to pay for it unless it was from neglect or abuse on my part.

they make you sign the paper saying its your responsibility....but i agree if the product caused a failure i would certainly fight the company.

My beta test for Quadzilla was fine.....they do test a lot before its in the hands of anyone in public.

Well I am thinking about doing it for the new Superchips Firefly. Might be a way to get some more power cheaper than normal.

I think I'd beta a module, but no way with a downloader. Let someone else figure it out if the ecm locks up.
