New quad rail/fuel press. gauge question
New quad rail/fuel press. gauge question
Ups just delivered my new toys finally! FE clutch and the quad gauges. My question is; it comes with a banjo fitting and new washers intending on grabbing fuel press. directly from a port on the cp3.OK i suppose this is good but is this how everyone else is hooking thiers up? There would be no question, but i have the billet cap from genos with a mech. 0-15 gauge installed now, why not just put the sensor in the cap? they both look to be the same size. 1/8 pipe i think. If i hook it to the ip i would be reading it in 2 places. Is one place better than the other, i assume being in the center of the cap it is reading post filter pressure rather than pre so if im thinking right it would be the same?
I had mine in the CP3 until I installed my GDP MK-2 + Big Line kit. The big line kit does away with the banjo bolts. So I bought the billet lid from Geno's and moved it there. It screws right into the cap.
The more i think of it i believe your right. Ive turned the key on with the top off before and the fuel comes out from the back /top of the canister, then does through the filter and down through the middle. Ya i supp. the cap is pre. filter. May thats the benifit of hooking it up so i have both id know when the filters dirty?
Honestly, I don't know. When I had it in the CP3 I never finished hooking it up for whatever reason.
It may. I do know I am measuring pressure pre-GDP filter.
I got the Glacier 392 Perf. and big line kit. It came with an aluminum fitting that allowed use of a pressure sender in the big line. I mounted mine before the 2 micron filter and after the stock filter. If you use this fitting make dang sure the threaded portion where the pressure sender goes is free of burrs that could go into your CP3. Mine had a few burrs which I cleared but I still put the fitting before the 2u filter.
Another thing. If you use this fitting and depending on the type of pressure sender you have, you may have to run a ground from the truck over to the sender. On mine I just ran a wire from the negative side of the battery, through some loom, over to the sender and secured it with a band clamp. Works good for me.
I'd go out and get a pic for you but I'm laid up with a broke femur!

I personally like to read my FP at the CP3 so I know that I am getting the fuel all the way to it.
