new intake manifold by banks?

On page 66 of the march diesel world magazine it shows a complete replacement intake manifold for the common rail cummins. Not finding it any where but it looks killer. Replaces the entire OEM unit not just the horn by the look of the picture. It's not on banks site yet but it looks killer. Anyone else seen it yet?

Yes it doesnt replace the whole factory unit like the zz fabrication one does no machine work needed. But all fuel system lines, fuel rail etc. will have to be removed this is simply replacing the factory plate that goes on top of the intake plenum from the first cylinder all the way back to #6. Your factory plate that all the fuel line clips, map sensor, heater grid, etc. is unbolted and the banks goes in its place with new gasket and then is bolted down this eliminates the air horn as well and comes with a new intercooler pipe. Looks like a clean piece but nobody knows cost etc so who knows yet.

Interesting. I must not have read that last thread on the intake carefully. I thought it was like the zz fabrications. Cool news.

OK, I looked around. I think the head does need big machining to work. Look here:

Yeah, it is not a simple bolt on part. You have to remove the head and take it to a competent machine shop and have them cut the cast intake off your head. It is pretty involved.

From what I have been told it isnt like the zz fab where the head needs to be machined down. This one simply bolts up but I could be wrong.
