Talking New guy

Well I’m a new guy to the CTD just bought a 06 megacab, had a Powerstroke for years. Let me tell ya I’m really impressed with the Dodge fit and finish of the truck. The CTD has way more power then my old chipped 7.3. If you guys could give me some tips on the CTD and truck such as upgrade for appearance / performance and maintenance it would be appreciated

How could that be? I always hear the Ford guys saying they wouldn't buy a Dodge because of the fit and finish... though I suppose I've always assumed that meant they thought it was bad. Maybe it's that it's better then they're used to and don't want to get out of they're comfort zone

Welcome!

Welcome to the club! First thing to do is remove the muffler to get a little more sound. That was the first mod I did to my truck and I love the way it sounds. If you add any performance stuff such as a chip, definetly add a set of gauges. I run the AFE Stage II intake with the torque tube which makes the turbo loud and lets the truck breath better. If you want to do a chip, you may want to look at the Edge EZ or Quad XZT, both of which are sold by Larry at the DTR performance shop. I just ordered my exhaust from him and he is a super guy with great prices and great customer service. Good luck with the new truck and again, welcome to this great website with other proud Cummins owners.

Like Patriot said, remove the muffler, silencer ring, get an intake for starters...then go programmer.

Nice to see another Delaware Native here.

Get a Smarty,Gauges, exuast and intake. Behave your self if you don't want to do driveline modifications or get a clutch or auto tranny work and you will be very happy. I would say get gauges then a smarty!!

As everyone says welcome to the site, and go with the guages, silencer ring removal for sure, intake, programmer etc. Then do a leveling kit to run bigger meats, if thats the look you are going for. Make good usage of the search function too, it can answer a lot of the questions you might have! Welcome to your new obsession!
