New "Death Wobble" ??
I thought my helpers were crazy when they said my truck shook violently when turning right and braking BUT I had to experience it to believe it and yes it IS scary.....BUT my truck is a bone stock 1984 Dodge D100....I know not a diesel but had the same symptoms....Maybe this is a Dodge thing?....By the way, the truck did pass a state inspection and the suspension was checked out and deemed OK....I have no idea what to do....I think I'll replace the shocks w/ Gas shocks....
Think that'll help?
Thanks
Andrew
PS - My other truck is a 1993 w250 CTD! ;-)

Death Wobble on BRAND NEW RAM
Well guys -- here it is -- I have a brand new 2004.5 RAM 2500 CTD Quadcab Shortbed - stock suspension --- Banks SixGun Bundle.... which of course doesn't affect the suspension.
I've now had the VIOLENT shaking front suspension 3 times in 10,600 miles! First couple of times I figured it was my fault somehow... so kinda blew it off. Third time -- I know it's not me. Drove straight to the dealer - who says "nothing wrong" and acted like they'd never heard of such an issue.
So came home and started to check the Net - in less than 3 minutes I find all kinds of people having this problem.
Some seem to think this a TracBar issue... worn out bushings etc. BUT my truck has 10,600 miles on it - and NO suspension or big tires! I have 22" Anteras on my Denali -- and it's got 40,000 miles - no Death Wobble ever!
Let me tell ya -- I'm taking this all the way up someones bunghole til I have complete satisfaction! I have the time and resources. Dang - why can't these guys engineer this stuff right the first time. You'd think we were back in the '20's and cars were just invented.

I've tried 3 set of shox, 1 set rs 9000, RSX, and now bilstiens, what I did find out is that I aired my tires up to 55 psi and the wobble was much less, So I have to say not a shock problem but a tire deforming translating to wobble problem!

I've posted a reply about my brand new 2500 SWB QC CTD having this problem! I was running 50 #'s in the front -- on Goodyears -- stock suspension... just bumped the pressure to 60 #'s. Hope this helps because if not -- and the dealer doesn't come through with some answers - they're going to buy this POS back - and I'll go get a DURAMAX. Hate that frontend -- looks like a siamese cat! but the deathwobble is not worth my life or anyone elses!
I will make sure I bum any Daimler sales in the future! Was looking to add either a 300C Hemi or the CTS-V --- IT'S THE CTS-V for sure now!
Maybe you need read my earlier post, in which i explained the problem in my 03 and my friends 04. Both trucks suffered from the "death wobble" and both times the steering box was the problem. Both of these trucks had less than 20,000 miles. I have addressed this issue on another site and didn't get any response either. If you don't believe me, please ask your dealer. I know we couldn't have had the only two. Just ask the dealer to try replacing the box, its still under warranty, right?
