Join the club bro, I had it so bad I took off the 315's, leveling kit and went back to stock. No more probs. Definately not funb when it happens. I tried everything to fix and nothing worked.

Update from dealer on wobble and bent stabilizer link rod.

They agree that there is definite wobble problem and bent link rod. They seem to think that the Rancho 5000 Steering Stabilizer is either bad or connects with different angle than stock. Said that the bent link rod is just a result of the lift spacer changing the angle of the stabilizer bar. Happens a lot of the time if not full lift kit.

Going to balance and rotate tires. They are going to give me a price to replace the link rods, but said it would just happen again. Suggested aftermarket stabilizer setup designed for lift kit.

Suggested going to dealer about replacing the Rancho 5000. Maybe not a true "OE" replacement part.

So for now it looks like that I should not have added the Daystar 2" front leveling spacer. I should have done a full lift kit or left it stock and found out if the 315s would rub.

Not sure yet what I am going to do. Cant aford or really want full lift kit. Dont want to spend money removing the lift spacer. Probably going to end up with more aftermarket parts in the garage soon.

Drop the sway bar 2" at the frame to return all to normal...no brainer.

If I remeber correctly...Tuff's sway bar drop is around that...but you could easily custom make a drop bracket.

Well here is what I have decided.

The dealer has already balanced and rotated the tires, this needed doing anyway.

The dealer is going to replace the stabilizer link rods, put back on the factory stabilizer, and I am going to have them remove the 2" Daystar leveling spacer, put it back to the stock spring caps, realign everything and then see if the 315s have a problem with wobble, rubbing or hitting. I really dont think they will.

Then if there is a problem I will have a slightly used set of BFG 315s and DayStar 2" Leveling kit for sale. Otherwise I have a DayStar 2" Leveling kit for sale.

This is really getting expensive. For what all of this is going to cost I could have had a Skyjacker 4" Lift kit installed and been done with it.

But I really want to play at the track and that much lift just wont work.

Will update with the bill and results tomorrow night.

The so called death wobble doesn't have anything to do with the leveling kit or the 35's. I haven't figured out what the problem is yet but i think that it is one of the shocks. When i put 305's on it the wobble has only occured twice since then.

I've tried 3 set of shox, 1 set rs 9000, RSX, and now bilstiens, what I did find out is that I aired my tires up to 55 psi and the wobble was much less, So I have to say not a shock problem but a tire deforming translating to wobble problem!

Here is my update on the "Death Wobble" problem and damage.

This is a pic of the Stabilizer Link Rods that are suppose to be straight. This happened the only time it went bouncing. BTW I looked at a F250 and the Link Rods are about twice as thick.

http://dodgetruckworld.tenmagazines....ude/174402.jpg

After talking with the frontend tech, I left the 2" Spacer Kit in place. He seemed to think a combination of things caused the violent bounce and wobble I experienced, that with corrections it would not happen again.

He did replace the Link Rods and in the process loosened the stabilizer bar and rotated it slightly to line up with the Link Rods so that there is no side angle tension.

He replaced the Rancho 5200 Stabilizer with the original stock stabilizer. Where the Rancho connects to the steering bar there is a bushing spacer to tighten against, however there is actually still some play possible because of the bolt hole. He said on some other stabilizers there is a cone shaped bushing that does better at stopping the possible movement at the bolt hole. Not much movement possible, but some at high tension.

When I had my oil changed and service done they lowered my tire pressure to about 32lbs, dont know why. I usually run 38-40 on the BFGs. They are rated 50. Tires are now at 40lbs.

I changed the front shock settings from 7 to 5 about three weeks ago. Settings are back at 7.

What was done:
Balanced and Rotated 315s.
Replaced Both Stabilizer Link Rods(95.75 Each)
Installed my OE Stabilizer(I keep everything).
Checked Alignment(It was still good).

Damage $309. It could have been worse.

I'll just have to see what happens.

The "death wobble" on the '03 & '04 trucks is due to a defect in the steering box. I had is problem and also though it had to do with the 2' daystar spacers, but after having the dealership replace all of the tierods, bushings, shocks, and installing dual steering stabilizers I still had the problem. I went to a different dealership and thet found the problem to be the box! I have had another friend with the same "death wobble" and had the same out come.

Maybe, but I think that would only be good news if you have not exceeded the 36 k warranty, not ******* you by any means.

Well I have put about 200 miles since picked it up yesterday. Been 65, 75 and 80 with no indication of the wobble. Hope it is gone, only time will tell.

Bump your front tires up to 50 psi..rears 40-45 unloaded. The tires will wear and handle best with those pressures.

I have had the death wobble twice in the last few months. On bumpy freeways at 70+ I can feel it starting, then I have to back off. I had my front tire pressure at about 43lbs for comfort. I added air to 48lbs and the tendency for the wobble to begin is now gone. Hopefully this extra pressure will help my problem.
