New 5" Exhaust

Hey guys,
I just installed my new 5" exhaust on my 03 daully and wanted to let ya know how it went. I bought a 5" from RPM Outlet (Aluminized $369).The system is made by Diamond Eye. When I got it the box was in bad shape so I was a little concerned but when I went through the parts list everything checked out ok. Well the old exhaust came off with ease and the new system went on just about as easy. The fit was perfect. There was plenty of pipe so I could delete the muffler. I almost put the muffler on but my son talked me out of it... He didn't have to do much talkin...
Anyway the sound is great! At an idle it's not loud at all not alot louder then the engine. As long as the TST is turned down it isn't very loud but when you put the fuel to her she does do some barkin. It will rap pretty good if ya got your foot into it and the fuel is turned up. There isn't any drone in the cab until I get to 65 mph or so but it goes away around 70-72. I haven't had a load behind the truck but empty I really like it. I should also note that the down pipe and 1st section (about 15 or so inches) is 4" pipe. I don't remember it stating that in the add. All in all I would buy it again.
See ya,
Topper

I did the 5" turbo back and I love mine also. Left mine straight(couldnt imagine running a diesel I own with a muffler )...I love the fact that a third gen has a very distinctive sound. Really unlike any truck sound I have ever been around.

I am kinda surprised that your down pipe is 4 inches. My system is only four where it adapts to the exhaut elbow and imediately jumps to 5" after about
1". Have fun scarring those powerjokes and duramaxipads when you pass em - especially when their windows are down

Thanks. I have a Donaldson on mine as of last week. Took away the drone but I lost HP/TQ on the dyno. Haven't pulled yet but I hope my EGT's didn't get worse.

No, I ordered the M100465 in hopes to modify it so I could get the sound I wanted but eliminate the drone. It sounds great and eliminated the drone but like I said I lost HP/TQ with it. I may take it off and modify it a bit more or just order the M090535. I just didn't know for sure if the 535 would eliminate the drone I had with the straight through Flo Pro that was on there. Either way, the mufflers are only around $57 a shot so it's not a crisis.
