I think someone already answered the stacking question. Not a good idea without a built tranny.

Looking to cover that nice 28' trailer with soot? Hope you like washing it!

I have the Power Pup with the Crazy Larry setting, and it smokes alot on the performance setting (90 hp). Just remember, that smoke is unburnt fuel, so the heavier your foot is and the more smoke you throw, the less your fuel mileage is.

JRussell, I agree with you, but it is kinda cool to blow some smoke and a tailgating car

Oh, I have to agree completely there! If there's a good reason then so be it.

ya it will get your more boost and be fairly hard on your stock turbo. its a cheap mod but I wouldnt run one forever. the only way I would run a boost fooler is if you plan to get a new turbo in the future. if you dont then dont put a fooler on it.

I already know im on borrowed time on my tranny. getting another isnt really an issue. However, I did just change the tranny fluid an filter yesterday. The oil came out looking and smelling like new, very little particles on the magnet in the bottom of the pan, and everything looked really clean. Even I was expecting to find quite a bit of clutch material in the pan. I did put on a Mag-Hytec double deep pan, so it will be easier to change the next time, and hopefully keep the tranny temps down while towing also.

Forgot to mention, I havent felt it slip yet either. I usually go into the throttle easy until it gets into lockup before putting the fuel to her. I may have it turned up, but I dont hot rod her. Guess at 28 years of age, I outgrew the drag race fever. Still like big power and smoke, but like someone else said, its usually reserved for a tailgater or ricer!

A boost fooler will not GET you anymore boost as I read it. A boost fooler will allow you to run more boost without turning the check engine light on.

My understanding was the computer has a "boost limiter", therefore the fooler lets the truck build more boost. Correct me if im wrong

You are correct on the newer trucks 04.5 and up. I didn't look at your sig. My bad! In order to get a lot more boost though, I think it takes more air and more fuel with the fooler.

On his truck ( the original poster ) in order to get more boost, he needs to modify the wastegate. I made my own boost elbow in about 20 minutes! Couple of drill bits, and a 5/16 set screw, drill and tap the elbow and screw the set screw all the way in got me over 10 more psi of boost. You could block the wastegate hose off, but I liked the idea of being able to adjust it.

Well if your not wanting to do any tranny upgrades, then I would say either continue to run the Edge Ez module alone by itself or Get a BD Triple Dog and run it on the tow setting stacked with the Edge Ez on the low setting. That will give you some smoke.

Drive 50mph on an onramp....let off the throttle.....give it 50% throttle.....it'll fog a small town...regardless of programmer, smoke occurs at heavy fuel and low boost....once the turbo spools, it'll clean up the smoke, unless you have a ton of fuel pouring in!

That should do it.

Tow/Haul mode with the converter locked in 3rd gear at about 30-35mph will put out some nasty smoke too...when you punch it.
