Need last 8 of VIN from 2006 Laramie 3500.

I am converting my SLT front end to the Laramie/Sport(painted center and grill) front end. Parts counter at local dealer would like to confirm last 8 of VIN from the vehicle that I would like to match. If anybody would not mind, I'd appreciate it. I'd feel weird asking a guy in the parking lot of Home Depot because it seems kind of sketchy.

I've never heard of any dealer wanting to confirm a VIN when buying parts. Seems like you tell them what you want and they'd get it for you. At least, I've never had that issue.

Yep, just go to Ebay and look for a 2006. They publish the VIN

It's because I am changing from one front to another. Parts guy said that the computer database operates off of the VIN in order to verify that the parts from the Sport will fit the SLT and what parts are needed.

I went to price the seat belt buckle, and they couldn't even look it up without the number.

Lots of dealer have gotten this way so that you don't ended up getting the wrong parts. VW/Audi dealers are the same way.

Please post the part number for the grill when you get it.
