Need help with a new turbo.

As some of you may know, I killed my stock turbo today. Looks like I get to finally get a good all around aftermarket turbo. I'm looking for something that flows better than stock but doesn't require new injectors to push it. I tow frequently and also like to play on the weekends. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Get a 62/65/13ss. Towing sometimes I wish I had one. The 71 wheel can be aggrivating at times.

Not too bad. My knee's don't work as good as they used too....LOL I just pulled the passenger tire and fender well. I left the manifold on the truck and just pulled the turbo, It will be easier to pull the manifold and turbo at the same time. It's hard to get the new turbo back under the manifold. That part was a PITA since I left the manifold on the head. The rest was very easy.

I've already pulled the manifold. The only thing left to remove is the downpipe and oil line. Did you fill you turbo with oil and spin the vanes before reinstalling?

It's all real easy to do. Just dont get the one I got (64/65-13) not very good towing. Put oil in the top and spin it coonter clockwise, once it comes out the bottom connect the lines make sure all is tight and start your truck n let it idle for about 10 minutes then drive off. I'm returning my 64 for the 62 I guess I got lucky.

Have you looked at the turbonetics ball bearing turbos. They can custom match a charger for your needs.

HTT, D-TECH, BD - all of them are direct bolt on's on the 3rd gens. 2nd gens need a downpipe, and of course, all those with3rd gens who changed over to the 2nd gen manifold will need a downpipe also.

I just bought a 62/65/13,waiting forit to arrive, Monday is the UPS del date but I probably won't get to it until Friday.

I just got done removing the manifold and turbo. Not to bad of a job. Looks like the compressor wheel made contact with the side causing about and 1/16 inch of blade lose. I removed the intake horn and looked for any pieces of shrapnel and found none. I used a shopvac on the intercooler to see if I could vacuum out any pieces that may be left in there. I didn't find anything in I/C or on top of the grid heater. Do you still think I need to pull the head? The truck idled fine with no knocks or pings.

It's kinda strange that most people say you need to change the downpipe on the automatics but not the standards??? So there is no need to buy a downpipe for the automatic transmission on a 2007 5.9L??

I haven't bought one yet.. I'm checking on a BD super B and a HTT 62. I have yet to hear from anyone. I might check with Lary in the DTR store.
