NEED HELP! 5.50" Backspacing or 6.00" Backspacing?

What backspacing will be the best on a 17x9 or 18x9 wheel running a 33x12.50 tire? My current backspacing choices are 5.50" and 6.00" and I don't want the 33x12.50 tire rubbing the control arms or the back of the front fender and mudflap. I have found a few wheels with 5.00" and 5.25" backspacing, but I think they will rub the fender/mudflap with a 33x12.50 tire.

I posted a few days ago on this topic and I got a 50/50 split on the answers with only 4 replies. I know that there are a ton of people out there with aftermarket rims who have been down this road already, including myself. My first set of wheels were 18x9.5 with 4.25 backspacing and they rubbed with 32x11.50s, even with the leveling kit. The Lima Ohio truck show is in two weeks (May 15th,16th, and 17th) and I'm buying at the show. Thanks for your help.

I would go with the 5.5. I would be a littile worried that 6 migh rub the ca. I have 5 with 35s and a 3 inch lift and the only time they rub is if im making a hard turn while compressing the suspention. New contol arms should fix that no problem. Now that I think about it I dont think either will rub with 33s

5.5 is perfect with a 12.5 tire all the way to 37 inches tall.

well If you would want to or like the looks, Hummer H2 wheels can be found on the cheap, you have to get them machined to fit over the hub but you can run 35's without a level or a lift, I have them on my truck and I love the way they look, picked em up with used bfg's for 400 bucks ready to roll. I haven't had any problems with them.

Ultra Wheels, Centerline (Big $$$), and KMC XD all have wheels somewhere in the 5.25", 5.50", 5.71", 5.75" and 6.00" Backspacing range...

I really want black wheels that are not too flashy (No shinny rivets, No shinny fake beadlocks, no machined aluminum surfaces, just Matte Black!). Somethig like a Classic II in black would be perfect, but Mickey Thompson and Pro Comp don't have anything close to the right backspacing. I had the American Racing Teflon Mojave wheels in an 18x9.5 for the last three years... They rubbed bad and rocked my ball joints due to the extremely low backspacing. Perfect style and looks but horrible backspacing at 4.25". The wheels alone stuck out clear to my Bushwacker Pocket Flares and the tires even further.
