Need Good Advice on what to do!!!!

I have some $ set aside for some mods. I know the tranny but how far to go with it, I here alot of problems with 2nd gear clutches and billet this and that. I do not like to do things twice. I will punch it to show off now and again, I may even street race (legal of course) but most of the time just grandpa along as I always do (got yeld at buy dealer service good friend said pedal down more often acording to ECM). I do tow about 2 times a month up and down some big mountains with 12000 lbs. I like to be the fast truck or fast bike guy, but do not like to through good $ away. I could go with the full billet tranny or just do TC,VB.Billet flex and strap and a turbo( Dirt Cheap right now) and a manifold and maybe some sticks. I have about $8000 to drop into her, the other pain is my Service wrep will honer anything I bring in (again good friend) so I need to know what the experts on here have to say.
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE IN ADVANVE

no matter what you do for power, you're still going to need the tranny, you just need to figure out how much power you want to shoot for and go from there.

Can get a fairly decent tranny $4000
Air Dog $500
turbo around going big $1500
Flux 2's (if none are damged) $1200
Don's springs &600
Get smarty updated to tnt tune
That is right at 8000 dollars and will be close to 600 hp without a Cp3 new cp3 and your at 650hp. Seeing that you tow a big amount I would go with a 64/12 or 62/14. Somebody else might chime in on what they would do I was just giving a rough idea. Soembody else can be a little more technical.

what kman says sounds like posotive info.

Torqfan: I think what he means is the dealer is telling him to not "grandpa" it around so much. Not unusual advice. My old man bought a new 99 dually in 2000 to pull our race car and the rear main seal leaked from day one. He took it back time and again only to have the service rep tell him he needed to "work" his truck and it would seal up. Well as the story goes we never raced again and it never got worked. So the dealer had to replace the seal under protest that "it would have done it on its own". Truck still only has 19,000 miles on it. A real shame.

As someone else said, decide where you want to end up with your truck, then decide if you need a 5 or 6 thousand dollar transmission. Your may try asking the question - - -" Who regrets building their auto to take most anything you can throw at it?" Tough decision, good luck.
