i have an 03 cummins with a banks six gun, intake, boost fooler, and straight pipe. i want to build more boost. Can i tighten my actuator rod to gain more boost. i have been told i can. and if so is it a noticeable difference. also how many turns of the rod does it take, and how much boost can i push with my stock turbo and all the rest.? please reply asap. thanks guys.

Get an aftermarket wastegate. Banks big head is good and install it. If not shorten it a couple of turns and you will beable to build a tad more boost. You will notice a difference. Loose the six gun for sure and get a a tuner, Smarty jr or BD Ultra tuner or the old version that they have on special the x-tuner. Very good very clean tuners that will for sure add some psi

^^^ I agree, the factory actuator is set, you'd need to get you a boost elbow or an actuator. I had your same setup when I first started out, seen 32psi max with the SL on. the Banks won't get you a quick rampup of pressure that will give you that quicker boost, but you will see more out of the top end before it drops off. Don't exceed 35psi, it will be straight ineffecient after that.

You're doing good boost wise, thats safe for you. On his truck (an 03 with a smaller turbo from the factory) 38psi would be nothing but hot air.

1400* is getting toasty for me, but I've seen many reach those temps. If it were me (i was in this boat once before) I would be saving up for a bigger turbo or some sort of water/methanol injection. You could actually get a little more boost and be okay, like about 40psi. If you can get extra boost maybe you can see some lower temps.

Yeah you're fine, many with 04.5 and up trucks can and wil see close to 50psi. Is it advised? NO. IMO I wouldn't try to push past 42psi, but maybe set your alert to 44psi.

There is NO WAy with your current mods any reason for a 66. you will be much happier with a 62/14 or a 62/71/13 or even a 64/14.....but you will have a time lighting the 64/14 and definately the 66......ask madhat...

Yeah I agree, you won't find a 66 very nice at all unless you do some serious mods. I would look at something like the HTT 62/65 or 62/71-13ss, SPS 62 or the SuperB special (64/71-14). They are all good turbos with good street manners and considerably more top-end room to grow egtwise.

My vote is for the super b special. i had one for awhile and loved it. Its a monster mid and top end. Some lag but very streetable with what you got. And if you upgrade fuel in the future, ie injectors, cp3 it will work for you still and even be more of a beast. Good luck
