I have a 2005 5.9 with 130,000 miles. The warranty is expired and I want to do a few things to increase the fuel economy. What are my options? Also looking for a good diesel shop in north texas.

The Texas boys can help you with the shops. One of the best mods is a smarty jr. Power and mileage. Mileage only if you can resist keeping your foot out of it. and no shop needed for the mod.

 

Gauges, Smarty, Free Flow Muffler, few holes in the airbox, all tires at 65+psi, drive 65mph. Should net you atleast 19-20 empty, 20-21 is likely to.

 

swiss cheese the airbox, gut the exhaust, and put a mild programmer should help out alot i know it did on mine. Oh and i had surgery to remove some of the lead out of my right foot that helped a ton. As for shops in north texas that depends where you consider north texas to be.
