My SPS66 thread, teehee.
Well, I just ordered a SPS66 that should be in by Tuesday. I haven't seen any _actual_ pictures of this turbo, just the one crappy one on the website. I plan on using my stock ex. manifold. Those are are running this turbo, is the hotside 16cm^2? How are EGT's during driving. At 1,500 in most gears, accl to 50 or so, i'm seeing 5psi of boost and about 600 degree egts, how would that be comparable with the SPS66? How about when it lights? I hear the low and mid range sucks, but top-end is killer with these turbos. Does anyone tow with these?

John,
Your stock turbo is junk compared to the SPS66 (sorry couldnt put it any kinder). EGT's will be several hundred degrees down and power will be way up.
2 totally different worlds.
You might experience some lag since you have a slush box.
But top end power will be great.
I can't really say your going to have great mid range since its difficult to control power with an auto.
Overall, I think you will be really impressed.

If you hate tires you will love the sps66!! Slower to spool for sure, when it does...

It takes tons of fuel to hit 45lbs boost on a stock turbo (and with little benefit), with the sps66 it takes a little right foot and tst on 4,4 and 45lbs comes about 1 second after 12lbs. With tst on 6,6 I've seen 55lbs. No comparison, the sps66 is far more serious than the stocker.

I have heard 55psi is no problem for the head gasket with the 3rd gens, makes me nervous though! What is cool to you? On tst 9,9 I can still hit 1700+ before 30mph. I don't want to know what the stock turbo would read on 9,9.
