Well you seem to have all of the necessary other upgrades. I like my SPS66 just fine. The difference in lag from stock is overcome by the TST for me.

Slow, I do believe the SP66 is the SledPuller 66 by HTT while the SPS66 is the Super Phat Shaft by Industrial Injection. ks

No. There is the HTT SledPuller66, then the II Phat Shaft (PS66) then the Super Phat Shaft66 (SPS66). The difference between the PS and SPS is the AR ratio on the hotside, i.e. the SPS66 offers more topend. It's a great turbo for sure.

John, Yep I agree but he asked "any difference between sp66 sps66." These letters are confusing I like the words. ks

i know we got noisy second gens. but smokin thunder has a SPS66. we went from 489 with an HX-40 and we changed the turbo and went up to 606hp just changing the turbo. we love it so far no problems whatsoever. if anyone was thinking of getting it id tell them to get it, after i picked them up off the floor after i told them the price . But it is a good turbo definatly. Also i was watching two guys garage and Edge is gonna come out with a turbo that comes with a 1 year no questions asked warranty . Just thought id throw in my .02.

He gained 112hp just by swapping turbos? He must have been seriously over fueling that HX40. I gained 111hp from tapping the wire and going to a KSB-1.

I think the SPS66 has a phatter shaft than the PS66. I have the SPS66 and love it. It does bark when I left off under load and it does surge a little under moderate fuel during constant mid-boost. I'm running it right now with just the EZ and it spools pretty slow. I had the TST and EZ stacked and it was a *little* laggy, but if you don't lug it, it isn't bad at all. I just sent my TST in for the twins program. I should have it back tomorrow or Thursday. I'll see how much of a difference that makes.

The only difference between the PS66 and the SPS66 is the exhaust side housing. 12cm vs. 14cm. HTT's Sledpuller66 is available either way as well. The 14cm being the one with more surge and barking, but less drive pressure for higher fuel trucks. HTT has no "warranty" but they replaced/rebuilt mine for free after 6months use. No questions asked. These turbos are all exactly the same internally as they are Schwitzer S300's.

whitesport ;this is exactly as i understand it as well. paul from htt told me dont get confused with the hotside cm mesurements between a holset and s300. he said a 12 cm s300 hotside is equivelent to a 14cm holset and a 14cm s300 is like a 16cm holset. just what i remember hearing

That could be...I know that the design of the exhaust side is TOTALLY different that the holset's.

They may share the same components when they start out but the housings get customised and the wheels get changed too. They are different.
