I'm hoping ya'll can help me, I cut the muffler off my 03 CTD about a year ago because I wanted a little more exhaust sound. Well, I got it! I searched here for days reading opinions about the sound it would make w/o the factory muffler, including the drone sound. It really didn't bother me at first but I've grown tired of it, especially considering I have had to go back to the muffler shop 3 times to have the weld repaired where they put the pipe in place of the muffler. I have had enough, I want to put a muffler back on it. Will ya'll please tell me a good replacement muffler to put on it. I may be selling the truck soon so I am more interested in cheap than anything. I just want a muffler that performs as well as the stock one I took off with about the same noise level, maybe a little louder.

Do a search for the Donaldson muffler, it will be much better flow than a stocker and it is just about as quite, maybe a little deeper. Maybe 75-90 bucks at your local Big Truck distributer.

 

Check with the local muffler shops, They may have a near new one that they cut off of someone elses truck laying around. Mark
