I installed my new mp-8 2day on my 07 5.9. Problem is the engine started loping real bad. Unplugged mp-8 and all is well. Any suggestions as to what might be wrong would be helpful. Simple install cant imagine I did anything wrong maybe faulty wiring?

Possibly plugged the rail plug in backwards...they have a tendancy to run rough like that.

Either that or your connections are dirty. Try a little dielectric grease on your plugs.

I dont think its the rail plug tried it both ways, but i didnt use dielectric grease. I thought its purpose was to only keep moisture out.

Well its possible for condensations to get in anyway, that can lead to terminal corrosion. Try it out first, if it doesn't help you may have a bad one.

I almost bought an MP 8 last Sat. When the mechanic connected it to my 04.5, it did the same thing, i.e. started hard, ran rough. Double checked the connections, no change. Mechanic figured it must be a bad box, but hearing of you having the same issue, makes me question the quality or at least quality control of TS Performance. At least it was no money out of my pocket since it's one he had in inventory. Real hesitant to go with their product in the future.

I had it when I first pt mine on, but after some advice I put dielectric grease in it and its been bueno ever since. It is a great pressure box.

I've had my mp-8 for 2 yrs with no problems and have a couple friends with them also with no problems. There is always the possibility of it being bad out of the box.

My Mp8 messed up with me a couple months ago. It had been plugged in for about about 10 months with no issues. Then one day I started my truck, the engine started reving on its own, could'nt drive it at all. So after I turned it off and let it sit for a few minutes I started it back up and it did the same thing. So just for the heck of it, I unplugged the mp8. Started right up, seemed to fix the problem. I have not had any more issues. Maybe I have a bad box also.
