More headstud questions

Ok i know these questions have been asked alot. I've been told that I'll need just studs to hold 60PSI and ive been told fire rings are needed as well, so which one is it? I would really like some input. Id like to know if anyone on here as blown gaskets with studs as well, if so what conditions(psi). I also want to know what would be the best headstuds, maybe a price as well? Ive also heard that you could leave your stock gasket on and not even pull the head to put the headstuds on, i have 17K on my truck and my gasket is fine now, so should i just leave the head on? Thanks in advance

Studs alone are fine. I would pull the head...to bottom tap, but either way has proven to be more than effective.

Well my stock head bolts and gasket have held 55psi sustained and spikes to 60psi for about a year now. My SPS66 wastegate is set at 55psi and I can open it with a number of different performance stacks. Had 16 hard boost launches last Sunday night with no noticeable effects. I will do the studs when I can, then maybe I will buy a little blue bottle.

I don't know if this helps at all, but my '98 with stock gasket and stock bolts has held 45 psi and nitrous for some time now.

I would just tighten your head bolts a few times a year and then when/if you blow your head gasket then i would fire ring and stud your truck. Im still on my stock head gasket and bolts and see 55psi daily.

Acook,
The 06 long block is EXACTLY the same as a 2004.5, 05 etc.
So go for it.
