hello,
just became a registered member of the site and this is my first post. I bought a new 07 2500 5.9 auto quad cab. I am wanting to start moding it. Was wanting input on some good first mods. I am thinking of going with an afe stage II for filter? A silverline or mbrp 4" turbo back 304 exhaust? Was wandering if these are a good choice and what else would be advised for first mods. After filter and exhaust i am wanting to put in a bigger lift pump and a chip/programmer. Was thinking about TST, Smarty , and or Bulldog triple dog. Am wanting good milage, low end power, and decent performance. Which one of these would be a better choice? Anyother recomendations would be appreciated. thanks

 

AFe Excellent choice but look at this before you spent a ton of money..

I think the AFe system is and excellent choice, but it's not the cheapest. I not sure about exhaust systems because I have always ran straight pipes with no cat. Banks makes a nice exhaust system also. By the way, is this your 1st diesel, if not what was your other one. Did you have mods on it.

yes this is my first diesel. my previous truck was an 04 1500 with hemi. It went to hell and back. And still ran like new. Have been around several cummins'. My dad has an 01 3500 and several neighbors have 3/4 tons. loven my new truck so far.

 

Since you have an auto, you might want to look at upgrading your tranny (torque converter) early in your modification process. This could increase the life of it and save money in the long run.
