Hey everybody, I know you get this kinda post all the time, but i have a 2001 2500 w/ 6spd, I use it for towing and everything else in between, it has 4inch straight pipe from the turbo back and a K&N drop in filter. I have a little money to play with, about 500, and was looking for some more power, any ideas? I have some guages already wired up, so I'm good there too, just want somemore fun under the hood and not have to worry about overdoing it pulling a load.

 

There are a few things you could try, an Edge EZ, a used Smarty if you can pry it out of someones hands, and there are some other products out there that would work well. If you want to go with anything more than 60 hp or so, you will have to tap the VP pump wire, there's plenty to research about, have fun with whatever you decide on.

 

I guess a fuel system is no fun? You've got guages so you'll know when this needs to be addressed

The smarty works well on the six speeds. If you're looking for something a bit less, any of the many 65 hp boxes availible will give you a timing bump, bring fuel in sooner, and should include an boost elbow so you can get more boost. A mild bomb like this should really wake the truck up and possibly improve mileage while not putting a huge strain on the truck
