Melted Brite Box...

Has anyone had their Brite Box melt when mounted under the hood? I have mine mounted on top of the fuse box and it's gotten hot enough to melt part of the plastic Brite Box. I noticed something wasn't right when my headlights stayed on after I turned them off. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

I do recall someone else complaining of their brite box melting here a while back. Sounds like more there can be more amps than the system can handle than the mounting location.

I don't know. It's been doing fine for almost a year now. It first started acting up the same night I towed home a big '71 Blazer. Probably the most weight I've ever towed plus I did it with 4.4 on #9 and the sticks. Water temps stayed in check according to the stock gauge so it's hard to believe the underhood temps were that much higher than normal.

It's a problem with the Can-Bus trucks I've read. Not a problem with your under-hood temps. It's a defect in the Brite Box.

Call Geno's. They'll probably warranty it.
