I have removed the muffler and replaced it with a straight pipe. I left the cat and resonator on. I like the fact that I have zero drone in the cab but would like the tone to be a little louder on the outside. I was wondering if I replaced the resonator with a striaght pipe would it make it drone in the cab? My Quad cab sounded great on the outside with a little drone inside the cab. Would it sound the same or would it be less drone cause of the added lenght of exhaust pipe. I don't want to much drone in the cab cause my daughter has to ride in the back seat. Any help would be great thanks.

 

Dump the cat and add a aftermarket muffler, best and smartest exhaust mod I've done.

 

Here here! I've done that too! No drone inside and an incredible sound outside...I have a donaldson 51" muffler...nothing else. Its pretty dang cheap and works better than anything. Run a search on here for them, I think there's like 3 dif styles of the 51", one of them does drone some.
