maxxis tires???
i am looking for new tires and stumbled across this brand Maxxis, just curious if anyone has used these and if so what are your thoughts?good bad or indifferent.looks like they make some pretty aggressive treaded tires in a D load range.also, where is a good place to get 2"spacers for the rear of my truck?
I have about 26k on mine and will likely get another 10k out of em.
Get your spacers from arrowcraft.com. You will have to bore out your outer rims but it is worth it. They send you a reeming bit that is dummy proof (good for me) and it is included in the price of the spacers.
If you go anywhere but arrowcraft I would have to wonder about your mental state. The service is good and the spacers are beefy, right at 16lbs a piece if I remember correctly.
I have had about 16-18,000 lbs worth of goosenck behind my truck and have run the outer tire up on a bank pickin the inside tire up off the ground so the outside one is the only one in contact with the ground and it didnt hurt a thing, still rides like a caddy.

I have their buck shot mudders on stock steel rims, my rims are a little narrow so I can't run them over 40 psi. They are wearing fast, and are really soft. Best dirt traction i've ever had, little weak in the gumbo clay at my folks place. Really quiet, but I think i'll have to change them out at 25K miles, they will be totally toast. I didn't like them on the ice very well either, I had to get all four siped just to keep it on the road. I still think great budget tire overall, if you do lots of rocky off roading, I would steer clear of these as they are so soft they rip, cut, and tear really easy. They do stick like glue to hard surfaces and they burned up my LSD rear end and New Valair Clutch due to minimal tire slippage as compared with my 31" michelins. Bad for the truck but actually a great drag racing tire/ sled pulling/ Diesel Truck Challenge Tire.
i got a quote for 6 bighorns 305/70/17 for 1020 shipped to my door, compared to the 1300 to 1600 quotes i was getting for other brands i think im gonna roll the dice and get them,i dont really do any heavy towing or serious off roading so i think they will propobly work out pretty well, thanks for the imput.ill post pics when they are mounted up
