max boost with smarty?

with my smarty on level 9 and all the basic mods I have listed in my sig I see a max boost of 38psi. Looking on this forum it seems as though many of you see more than 40psi easily with the smarty on sometimes lower levels. Is this a normal boost psi or should I be getting more boost?

I'm having the same problem but my boost is even lower. I'm barely hitting 30 or 32 psi. I could hit 42 with my quadzilla and with my banks, so I need to get this one figured out. I'd do a boost fooler, but richard at browns diesel said they picked up 20 hp when they ran the revo without the boost fooler so I don't know what to do

For you this may very well be normal... remember that first no two trucks are alike, total boost number really means squat, (all other thing being equal, boost is a relative measure of restriction, less restriction, less boost). Where the boost number is going to help you is in relationship to your own truck... as it changes up and down at WOT, it is an indication of the fuel you are throwing at it.

All that said, for your individual truck alone (not about anyone else's), I would say that is normal due to the CFM+ you have on there. A lot less restriction with that puppy. Besides, on the stock turbo you get no real benefit from anything over 40psi anyway-- it is just a lot of superheated air.

I can get 70 psi from my twins... that doesn't mean it is great air.

Also where are you measuring, there seems to be a psi or two disparity between the manifold and the horn...

I'm having the same problem. With 4.4/4.3, my boost w/ my Silver 62 would hit 48psi, with TNT, I cannot hit over 44lbs? With the regular revo, I'm only hitting 41.

I have noticed the same thing with my boost. W/ my TST my max boost was 41 lbs. and with smarty 4.11-revo-revo-tnt all I see is 35, and most times it is only 33 or 34???

per Bob,

The Smarty DOES NOT boost beyond 44psi. That is what the ECM is set at regardless of the wastegate setting.

You guys seeing more.... who know why, maybe because you have the older ECM's ?? but, the Smarty is 44psi max.

A boost fooler is needed beyond that.
