Malfunction Indicator Light

Hello,

I have only 650 miles and my MIL just came on. The dealer told me that it can come on for over 100 different reasons. I'd like to have a programmer/device that could tell me what these codes are and then I could determine if I needed to return to the dealer and leave it with them for a day or two just for them to clear something simple.

What would be a good choice to do what I'm interested in? I don't really care about increasing power a lot...although better mpg is always nice. And I don't really want to spend a lot.

You can get the codes by cycling the key OFF/ON three times. The error codes if any will be displayed in the odometer panel.

I cycled the key 3 times...i guess i did it wrong. i went from off to ignition on 3 times, i went from the first click to ignition on 3 times...never got a code.

I know programmers like the edge for gas engines will tell what the code is and allow you to clear it (I had done some research for my old truck.) I'm interested in something like that.
