Low Boost problem with Edge-att

Installed a edge/att with #6 Hot unlock code on a 2008 with a 5.9 L
Truck has only 4,100 KM on the odometer.

The problem is when floring it on #6 all the way from a dead stop, it pours thick black smoke all the way. and makes ONLY 23-26 psi boost
MAX

Now when taking it easy up to 70 mph, and when the TC locks, laying slowly into it, it will make 36 psi boost and smoke less, and make more power!

It wont accept any programmer either.

whats the deal?

I thought that all 2008 year trucks had the 6.7L CTD.......

All Mexican 08s and 09s still come with the 5.9L

Thy only thing i didnt connect was the qturbo timer cable under the dash. could that be my problem? a guy was telling me thats what controls the wastegate, i find that hard to believe.

also on the edge box it says its for dodge 2006, i should have gotten the 2006-2006, because i believe the late 07 US 5.9s are like the mexican 08s and 09s

I would call Edge..

The programmer issue is because the VIN says 08...

i think you answered your own question. you left a part of the box disconected and that part happens to go to the turbo i would first make sure its the correct box 2nd connect it correctly the test it.

The part that was left disconnect only controls the power to the ECM from the ignitions switch until the cool down timer is completed or the temp drops below the set point. The edge hold the power on even with the switch turned off, It has no impact on the turbo function.

There were two edges for the 2006 trucks, not sure about 08's but the edge for the 06 trucks built after June 06 work on the 07 trucks.

I suspect part of the reason for low boost from a stop is the TC is not locked or the edge is defueling from one of your settings maybe the trans mission slip function.

Hit enter twice quickly just prior to another test run, this disables all defueling functions for 60 seconds. See how it runs then.

forgot to mention... i disabled the defuel option as you describe, and it ran the same.

seems like it works well on level 5

part number is EJD3000BWAM

The EJD3000BWAM is for the pre June 2006 engines. You should have EJD3000CWAM at the very least.

I had the same issues with my 04.5. I figured it out to be poor lift pump pressure at WOT.
installed an AD150 and so far so good.

you may not have enough fuel there to build boost. install a lift pump guage and see whats going on.

might not be what your looking for though seeing how your truck is basically new.
