Really looking at a Smarty, How does the Manual Transmission/Clutch hold up with the power upgrade. (compared to the Automatic?) Thanks in advance for the advice

I ran # 5 regularly with my stock Autosmatic for months & some week end loads as high as # 9 mind you I didn't hammer it all the time & I really eyeballed the tanny temps rarely hit 180 deg's maybe because my rig only had 60000Km
Bare in mind a built tranny compliments the Smarty & any future mods
Any ways your Dodge sittin still is better than any Powerjoke or Duramimum

the smarty instructions say that level 5 is safe for a manual and level 3 is safe for an automatic, so you can throw a little more power at the manual. i would often use level 9 on my stock clutch but i would also drive with a very light foot. anytime i did try to hammer it, the clutch would slip. to really be able to use the power of smarty you need a clutch.

I run mine on 5 all the time with a stock clutch pulling trailers and everything. If I turn it on 7 with a trailer it slips, and if I turn it on 9 without one, I have to have a really light foot, or else it slips pretty bad. Next mod for me is a clutch so I can actually enjoy it a little more

Smarty or Smarty Jr? If the intent was to put in a new trany/TQ and maybe some 40 or 90hp injectors would you get a smarty or a smarty jr??

Thanks,
John

Smarty Sr. Maximize you ability to upgrade your programs in the future to support the different mods, especially if you plan on modding the transmission..
