looking for comparisons 03 305/555 smarty combos

got a 03 305/555 running the intank factory replacement pump. so far i havent drained the rail. pressure int he rail stays up at WOT

have a HTb2 62/12, AFE and a 4" exhaust on right now with smarty on level 9 mild torque management. so (4.11 D 2.11) i see 38 psi. and 380/ 780 on the dyno +/- the egts stay at about 1100-1150 ive seen 1200 when things get lugged but once the turbo catches up it cools right off. Ive got a CFM+ and a ATS manifold sitting here but im not putting them on just yet. (got a Helix 2 sitting here also but think thats gonna wait a little longer)

the WG on HTT is set to start opening between 41-43. yes i reset it as soon as i got the turbo

seems a little suspect...... am i getting past my injectors. i was under the impression stock 305 injectors with the smarty could suppoer 425 - 440 at the RW at least. my objective is to keep her as clean at the pip e as possible, im not looking to add injectors anytime soon and if i do they'll be small.

I could dig up an old Van Aken 3.1 and stack it that seemed to work really well in the past.

thoughts?

Your numbers are spot on same as mine. If you want 420-440 rwhp you're gonna need to add a pressure box.

My truck went from 380rwhp w/ Smarty/Silverbullet and once I added pressure (EZ) on the next run it shot up to 416/800

I have since added a MP8 and have a best of 439/908

Smarty/ MP8/ Silverbullet stock fuel system.

Remember its not a 04.5+

I'm right at 500/1100+/- w/ my mods(no injtrs), I'd say put a Quad adj box or an MP8 w/ a Smarty beta tune and you'll see that 450hp. Do you have an adj. boost elbow for that turbo? You need one if not, you should be seeing more boost than that, at least 47-50ish. I spike mine at 52-53psi WOT runs. You must have a super lift pump, mine drained w/ smarty alone back in the day(engine mounted).

TCR, how are your injectors holding up with your mods? I'm going with the 64/71-13ss like you suggested, would I be ok stacking a MP-8 on the stockers for awhile?

Knock on wood! 116,000 total miles w/ both a banks 6gun, then I put on the Quad Race. SO far so good. Both of these boxes raise rail pressure quite a bit. I've also had 2mic filtering for 60,000 miles or so, I'm sure that has helped.

You'll be fine stacking that MP-8. Plays well with the smarty like slow six speed above has done. In fact, it will hlep spool that turbo. keep an eye on the fuel/rail pressure though.

The MP8 will only run you out of whatever fuel you have left. Do you have an FP gauge (not rail pressure)? When they did the replacement pump on my truck, with the smarty on 7 i was doing 393/791, but I was dragging FP to 2psi. Rail pressure on the quad moves so quickly it was hard to tell what was happening there. When I moved to #9 on the smarty, I lost power as i was out of fuel. The FASS has fixed that glitch. Your next mod should be a FASS or AirDog. If you find yourself over in the east bay, look us up.

AirDog order was placed this morning. Fuel won't be an issue.

im definately happy with the power. and dont regret the turbo upgrade it has made towing a breeze. zero EGT issues at currentl power level.

Stacked my old Van Aken 3.1 recent run put me at 417/831. but im probably gonna run without the Van aken on when towing. Rail pressure stayed consistant didnt drop.... so far no fluctuations there.

Gotta pull my south bend Con OFE, brand new and its rattling really bad sometimes louder than my buddies DD when the two trucks are side by side idling.... its rattled since the day i put it in. Peter didnt waste any time shot me a new disk next day.
