A Little Input Shaft Carnage
Nate,
If you talk to Dave he will point you in the right direction. You may want to get his reman trans with his parts for now, if you can afford it add the billet input and you will be good for a bit. I know the frustration of trying to build a truck with limited funds but we all start somewhere and we can never do it right the first time, at least I can't for some reason.

I'd like to be at a solid 500-550 horse some day. The most i'll probably do is a set of small sticks, maybe twins and a cam. Nothing to drastic. I don't sled pull but I may take it down the track a time or two when I get it all dialed in. As much as I'd like to build the tranny solid as a rock this one time, the cost is what im after. I can't afford the $5k dollar + bill at the moment.
The main parts is the conv./vb./input shaft/flex plate...
I just re-read this thread so....disreguard anything lower than this....
How many miles are on the present trans?? If under (say) 60K, locate a goerend approved local shop to do the above items (if you can't) and at a later date rebuild the trans (clutches-bearings and such) along with a output shaft...
