Cool Lift needed?

I`m interested in running 35 in .mudders and was just wondering if a guy needs to do a lift to the truck or just a leveling kit to it.I understand that they do rub slightly.I like the look the 35(315`s)give the truck but If they rub then I go with 33`s(305).Any info is good info.....

35s will fit without a lift, but depending on the backspacing of the wheels they may rub a little bit at full lock. I have 315/70R17s (35") on factory chrome steelies and mine rub a tiny bit.

And I`d like to gain some xtra clearance under the truck ,to keep from scraping the underside and running boards. So I was hoping for 35 but some tire store people so no,they don`t fit.

I have stock chromed steel wheels with BFG 315's and mine rub at full lock. Many people have put on 2' leveling kits and removed the rub. If you are going to aftermarket wheels, then becarefull of the backspacing. Note that for most 35" tires, the stock 8" wheel does NOT meet the manufacturers minimum width so keep that in consideration as well.

You can crank the torsion bars up. Turn them 5 times and its about two inches of lift on the front end. Make sure to have an alignment shop do it as you will change the geometry of the front end.

Torsion bars are only on the 1/2 ton trucks. The heavy duty trucks don't have torsion bars

Besides I did that with my 03 4x4 4.7L and it made the ride very stiff on the front end. Basically it @#$!'d.

I have 2" leveling kit and 315s(34.4") on stock rims. I do not have any rubbing. It looks to me that aftermarket rims with less that 5" or so back spacing would probably rub on full lock. True 35" tires probably would for sure.
