Lazarsmith Tracbar Bushings Dont Work
Lazarsmith Tracbar Bushings Dont Work
well i purchased a set of lazarsmith's offset tracbar bushings several months ago and when they arived to my surprise they had plastic sleeves w/ them. i called lazarsmith and asked if this was correct and i was told it is a space aged plastic that wont wear or move once pressed into place.
well here it is several months down the road and after noticing my alignment has gotten off somehow i started checking some things. come to find out the bushings have turned inside the tracbar and now are causing the exact oposite effect that they were designed for. my axle is now even farther towards the drivers side than w/ the stock bushings. has anyone else had this problem w/ these bushings, and if so how did you solve it? thanks.

Which trackbar bushings did you get - how much offset? Did you install them? If so, how difficult were they to press in and what direction were they oriented?
I'm not sure the UHMW cores qualify as "space age"
but the iglide shells sure are high-tech based on their specs & price.
When installed properly, the shells are so tight that the cores will come out before the bushing shells do - we've never heard of a single case of rotation within the trackbar.
You should take a few minutes and pull the bolt out of the frame side of the trackbar - inspect the bushing and see if you can push it out easily.
On installation, it's important to orient the offset straight towards the end of the trackbar.

Imagine that!!! Customer service!!
Sorry, I'm blowing the LS horn... I do because I have had great dealings with him personally, and on a business level...
You got my vote, Mike.

Thanks Mark.
Nothings perfect, but there has been no wear/failure issues to date with our trackbar bushings - although you'd think they'd crop up sooner or later!
Since any part can be expected to have a finite service life, we designed the LazarSmith bushings with easily replaced components.

If they are pushed into place properly, I don't see how they could move. Mine are perfect and I'm drag racing and breaking parts on 40's. My only problem, is now I can't keep the track bar bolt tight. Guess that's what loc tite is for.

they were pressed in properly and still moved. the pressfit was not as tight as the factory metal sleeved bushings, they pressed into place very easily and honestly im not surprised they did not work.
