Kore Control Arm Question.

I bought a used set of control arms. They will be installed tomorrow. They are the chase series I think. Anyways, one end has a rubber bushing/bearing and the other end has a evo joint. What end goes to the axle and what end goes to the frame????? Thanks.

Good question, sounds like you have the race arms or some older version chase arms. Are these arms aluminum or steel?

I found a pic here, seems like the aluminum arms have engraved markings on the frame end?

found another set of pics, from these it looks like the spherical joint is on the frame end?

Thanks! A picture is worth a thousand words seems to be true here! Mine are like the ones found in the article you have found. Except mine are a nice silver color and not black. Rubber to the axle. I honestly would have put them in the other way........ Good thing I asked.

Those are probably the discontinued set from KORE, which used Rubicon Express joints....they were found to not last as long and KORE eventually switched over the rubber core bushings on both ends.

I read that on the Dodge the Rubicon joint would beat themselves apart so make sure to lock down the threaded ring real good. I would tack weld it from spinning loose. The Rubicon joint should last if you can keep it together.

I did tighten it up a bunch because there was a little play in them. Might just get a rebuild kit for them if they give me any grief. Whoever the original owner was never greased them I think. This particular rubicon joint did not seem that sturdy when I had it apart. Probably good if I started brand new and used lots of grease...... I will check it in a month or two and a few thousand miles to see how they are holding up.
