Jake brake

Anybody have a jake brake on their truck? I don't mean a pac brake. I mean the actual jake. I know Dodge offers it as an option, but haven't heard any feedback.

A real jake? like one that goes on the head that keeps the exhaust valves from opening? Whoa, that would be friggin awesome! thats what i wanted for mine, but i didnt find one. 1. because i would think that they would work better than an exhaust brake, and 2. because the sound sweet. I herd they didnt make them for the 24v 2nd gens. havent herd a thing about the 3rd gens... sorry.

Jacobs does make an exhaust brake for our trucks, but I personally dont know anyone running one. I just wanted to clearify that this is an exhaust brake, not a compression brake that are on the big rigs.

I may be wrong, but I don't think the option from Dodge is a true 'Jake' brake.

The one offered by Dodge is a Jake manufactured exhaust brake.

I have one. It is Jacob brand, but is an exhaust brake, not an engine brake.

Mainly, the kit consists of a butterfly type valve that replaces the elbow on the turbo outlet, and a vacuum pump that mounts on the driver's side of the engine.

I like mine very much, and it really comes in handy when towing on grades. It's also nice for faster warm ups in the winter.

Installation was time consuming, but not complicated or difficult.

Oh. When I read the new Dodge brochure it said "Jake" brake. I guess I just assumed it meant something else.

i bought the pacbrake. I think it is much better than the Jacobs, uses an included 12v air compressor to activate the butterfly, meaning you have air for other things, like AIR HORNS!
