isspro tranny gauge in Hot line""

any guys out there running the isspro tranny gauge in your hot line?? what temps are you seeing. i think mine is running high-compared to my previous gauge!(also installed in the hot line) i am seeing 160 degrees on the highway and in light to moderate traffic -the needle shoots right up to 190 degrees and basically sits there. checked all my connections yesterday-everything good. called the retailer today and he says those temps are normal for my truck! the last gauge i never saw above 160 degrees in city traffic! any thoughts??

Maybe your other gauge was hooked into the pressure test port of the tranny? If it was you'll see a 30* to 40* differance.

I have the isspro gauges and my trans gauge is mounted in the trans hot line also, my normal driving temp is 150 deg. In stop and go traffic above 70 deg ambient I will see 190 deg regularly, it always comes back to 150-160 once the trans is back in 4th gear lock up, so you look pretty normal comparing to mine.

You read aprox. where my trans.(isspro) guage reads. Had it for 120k miles for 6 years pulling many big loads and also many miles unloaded.
Good luck,
Jerry

I talked to Dave Goerend about a week ago...same temps and he said it is FINE!!!! Mine locks up and goes from 200 down to 140 in about 1-2 minutes of highway driving.

So, in 93f weather this week:

Empty
at 75mph: ~170F
In stop & go traffic: 180-190F
As soon as I get above 30mph to the the TC lock in 3rd, the temps head back to 170F

W/ Boat
at 75mph: ~175F
In city, stop light to stop light: 180-190F
Climbing the hill from the lake (behind old-farts, in the parking lot) at 20mph, 200-210.
As soon as I can get the TC locked up, temps come right down to 175-180F!

I too was a little concerned about my temps, until I saw this thread.

Oh, yeah, I have the jake on all the time, so basically the truck is in tow-haul mode ALL THE TIME. This is how you can get the TC to lock at 30mph in 3rd...you do have to baby the throttle, though.

HTH
