As soon as I can get the TC locked up, temps come right down to 175-180F!

I too was a little concerned about my temps, until I saw this thread.

Oh, yeah, I have the jake on all the time, so basically the truck is in tow-haul mode ALL THE TIME. This is how you can get the TC to lock at 30mph in 3rd...you do have to baby the throttle, though.

im right there with you on the temps. i really hate backing up cause those temps soar. how do you like your jake while pulling your boat? im a little disappointed in the performance, i can hardly notice a difference when loaded, unloaded i love it though

The jake is nice on down side of the hills. I can easily see how it would be better with a 6 speed...more gears!

Yeah, the jake is all about the in-cab entertainment!

But, it is nice on the hills. Works well with the cruise control to hold the setpoint on the down hill side.

Yup, in the hot line. I hit 140 while sitting at a stop light and below 130 while driving around.

What are the outside temps you see with those trans temps?

I have mine in the hot line as well and on the freeway I see about 130-140 and in the city I see about 170 to 190, but that is sitting at a light it usually drops to about 160 when I get going. You have to rememeber that those temps are not the true temp. The gauge is reading the fluid before it hits the cooler so there will be about a 30* difference in the reading of the temp, so you are acually running cooler fluid through the tranny anyways, so you are all good!
