Interesting note about Smarty and "undetectability"
About every other time I load my smarty on my truck, or make a change to a different level I get P0602 code. No big deal. Clear it and all is well.
Before anybody asks I am making sure everything is turned off and I follow the directions on the screen to a T.
Now.. You can clear the code NO PROBLEM whatsoever. However, here is the interesting thing I just noticed.
When I hook up my Actron 9150 Scantool to the truck and flip thru the ECM Freeze Frames it comes up, shows the code that caused the freeze frame, and the operating parameters at the time when the code was set. Even though the code is cleared.
How can we get the freeze frame data to go away. Anybody with a scantool can go in and pull a freeze frame data and see that the code was set. I am reasonably certain a dealer COULD use that to try and prove a programmer had been used.
Anybody care to chime in?

When I pulled the freeze frame out it was after reloading the stock program. I was reloading the stock so I could update the smarty. I know its not required but I guess I feel better returning the truck to stock when I do the smarty update.
So the answer is yes.

what info does the scan tool tell you about the operating parameters?? as well what is the P0602 desrciption?? All codes snap a freeze frame, it is a matter of what the ecm is saying about this particular one!
FWIW, unless the operating parameters are unrealisticly outside of stock, nobody will say boo about them!!

As for the P0602 code being gone permanently that is good news!

Interesting yes. Now in no way am I saying I don't like it (smarty) however. I am more looking to find a way to clear the freeze frame data.
My Actron 9150 scanner in freeze frame view you can hit delete and it says its deleting them and they don't go away. Maybe my scantool is a pos? I have no Idea.
When you look at the FF data the parameters included are RPM (says 0) and some other things but the code is obviously set when the engine is not running.
Does anybody know of a way to clear the FF info off the PCM? I am assuming a battery disconnect would do it BUT won't that clear your key cycles info too?

The original poster has already said that the code remains and freeze frame data remains after the programming has been returned to stock....so are you saying that a new version of the software will stop that from happening or are you saying that it shouldn't be happening.
Also when you say that P0602 will be a code of the past soon are you saying this is a common problem with the Smarty? Or is there something else I am missing?
Hoping to hear more about this....
