Installed the VA C-3.2 today - what a difference!

I went from somewhere between 260-280HP stock to somewhere around 150HP w/ the new VA box. Now I know this is quite a difference, over 100 hp, but I was kind of hoping that my HP would increase, not decrease, after spending $600 At WOT I can go from 0-40mph in about 15 seconds and with my RPM's at 3000 my EGT's never go above 600*! Is that impressive or what? Needless to say, my box gets to take another trip cross country - back to NY. They are going to send me new box on Monday.

All the pins were straight and intact, every connection was tight. After I took off the box, my truck ran great again. Anyone else have this issue w/ their new box?

Nope...mine is perfect. Just need more air and fuel to keep up!

What kind of mileage did you get? Sorry, I could not resist. That's about how my Jeep is doing right now. About 20k invested and it leaves stains in the driveway and does not like to start when the temps go up. I'm sure VA will handle the problem.

Sounds exactly like a MAP sensor problem.

Were you able to hook it up to an OBDII scanner and read MAP Voltage? (or pressure)

This is probably the only positive thing about this new box - my mileage would be excellent! At WOT, I could hear the engine sucking in large quantities of air - but must have been getting no fuel because the EGT's would not go above 600* no matter what. It was really strange to be in a new CTD, hearing the motor scream, and being passed by an old slug bug

Thumbs up Update

I received another VA C-3.2 today. This one worked.

My observations:
I'll start with the high setting. DO NOT run this box on high setting w/o gauges! At WOT, it took 2-3 seconds to get up to 1300*F. No exaggeratioin! At one point I didn't look at my pyro for 3 -4 seconds and then I saw it racing to 1400*F so I had to let off the pedal, and I was only up to about 80 mph and it was pulling strong. There was lots of smoke on this setting at initial pedal application but quickly stops as turbo spools up. It will break the tires loose for a second or two going slow but not bad. I have heard people claiming breaking tires loose at higher speeds - not with my set-up - 315's and auto.

Half setting produced a nice mild power increase and no smoke. I test drove the EZ and this VA box on the half power setting felt like it has more punch to me. The EGT's are managable but you still must keep your best eye on the gauge. It took about 5+ seconds at WOT to get to 1300*F. However, I decided to keep the foot in it once and noted that the gauge did not go over 1300*, even as I came close to 100 mph - I got scared and let off. I am hoping this setting will be a good tow setting - I'll report back after Memorial weekend.

I was somewhat suprised at the lack of boost. Half setting produced max of about 25 and max about 29 psi on high setting. I expected more boost. Maybe this is why this box runs a little hot?

great report GreenZ. I will be compiling this and other information, in addition to my own, and making it available via the fueling box matrix . I'll start another thread asking for more input like this. --Doug
