Question injector question

I installed a set of ATS injectors in my truck on Saturday(95 hp).First off let me say they pull like a freight train from idle to red line,a big puff of smoke then they clear out. I am running my edge as a boost fooler on level 1 until my turbo gets here next week. My question is this, when i am just trying to maintain speed say 35 mph the truck feels like its is stumbling, sputtering, loading up..... It's hard to explain but it's just not smooth ,but if you give it any amount of pedal it clears right up and feels normal .Do all the bigger injectors do this ,because if they do I think I am going to put the stock injectors back in. Thanks for any help or advice,

John

I would try putting the EZ on a higher level. Just a thought.

I have tried it on every level, It goes alot faster on the upper levels but has the roughness.

When I iunstalled injectors in my 12 valve, It did react similar, I had to keep the propane on in order for it to feel smooth.

Thanks for your reply JT,I talked with ATS today and they said the injectors were going to run that way until the turbo builds more boost (they smooth out at about 10 lbs) I put about 240 miles on them today and they are fine on the interstate, around town is a different story. I guess I should have asked more questions, live and learn.....

It was pretty easy, It took about 3 hours from start to finish. I got all the info I needed from this forum.

Couple questions. Did you buy the special injector puller tool from the dealer or did you muscle them out of the head by hand? …and… Did you have to remove any valve springs/arms?

I didn't use the injector puller, I just snatched them out by hand. They came out very easily. You have to remove the exhaust rocker arm first but you can get by the intake and the valve springs without removing them. If you do decide on new injectors be sure to let your truck sit over night, it's a lot easier working on a cool engine!

Hope this helps, John

so it would seem to me that if you raised your idle it would cause the turbo to spin up faster/run higher. right?

How are those ATS injectors made, are they honed or edm? Are they exchange injectors or new?

i have the same injectors and they are just tips and they are **** spendy, they didn't cause me the problems you are having but i'm hoping everything works out. I like them and I got tired of waiting for edm's, and i still pull the 34 ' trailer from time to time so i didn't wanna go to big as to cause a heat issue.

The ATS injectors are extrude honed.

We developed a complete level of extrude honed injectors as well and discovered that EH injectors can act funny when they exceed 80 HP. We figured out why and cured the trouble. We have some up to 123-125 HP and had zero driveability issues. No poping, weird running, etc.

I think you will be just fine in your choice. I only wish things could move faster on my end, but even if I knew I had the perfect custom injector I still have to long term test them.

Until then.....EH is the choice.
