Injection pump going out?

Injection pump going out?
I am posting for a friend. He has an 03 and he said that the truck is studdering and does not have the power nor smoke that it use to have. He has a juice with attitude {hot version} and a boost fooler. Doesnt this sound like the cp3 going out? Thanks guys.

If it is running rough at idle with a funny sound I'd look at the injectors. If the cp3 was failing I would think it would do more than make the truck studder. He can also check out the FCA behind the cp3, it may be bad and/or sticking. If all these check out good look at the rail sensor.
