Thank you everyone for your input. Yes, indeed it is a 4x4. Barbados is quite flat but there are some occasional steep inclines I do have to deal with as I head inland. Disengaging the front shaft to tow in 4lo x 2 is not really a convenient option...
Transmission upgrades, air bags and goosenecks are. The trailer has not been ordered yet. My freight forwarder in Miami will source it. I would use a reese 24k hitch in this scenario. I tried to get away from goosenecks as my 5 ton mitsubishi and long bed all use the pintle system. That is pretty much standard on the island here unfortunately.
So let's look at this again, what is the maximum safe weight I could outfit this truck to tow safely considering that I'd like to stay pintle if possible.
What I assume I need right now for sure is:
Air bags
4:56 gears (is this the best option?)
TC???
New insurance?
Remember, the core problem is having to make two trips to get both S250s to the job site.
Thanks again everyone,
Gerren

About 150. Yes we already have a little trailer that can work with the Mitsu. Trouble is I lose everytime I take it away from another job site or rental.

That would be step 1 in and of itself...towing that kind of weight with a 6in lift and big tires is not recommended at all. Least I wouldnt do it.

Here is my trailer with my 05 along with a 6" lift and toyo 37's
I honestly wouldn't tow anything more than that.
The trailer is 30 ft long and weighs in at about 11,000. I was goona weigh it yesterday but forgot. It can get a little hectic going down the road and hitting ruts.. 37's control where your truck goes not you.!!! i can't imigane all that weight on a factory hitch along with 37's. My buddy has a stock truck and he tows around that kinda weight but he went in and reinforced his hitch running gussets back into the frame!!
