I resently bought a used set of rims and tires for my truck and they stick out farther than I would like. I am leaving a week from this coming wednesday for a 2000 mile round trip into the Colorado mountains. I would like to still have paint on the side of my truck when I get back. I would like a set of Xenon flares because I like the way they look and the fact that they have tape on the top instead of a ruber gasket that will rub the paint threw. The cheapest I have found them is $365 from TruckAddons.com. Is this a good price? It says that they come preped for paint but I wont have time to get them painted before I leave. Would this be a problem to run them a few weeks till I get back and then remove them and have them painted? Also, Is there any other brands of flares that stick out at least 2 inches and have tape on the top instead of a rubber gasket? I dont mind the look of the Bushwacker pocket style flares but I dont want to run them if it is going to ruin the paint where they rub.
If you know of a good place to get them cheap and fast please let me know. I need to have them buy the end of next week so I have time to mount them before I leave.

I just put the ATS flares on my truck and they look great. They too have the tape at the top of the flare to hold it against the body. You can get them prepainted and they only run about $400.00 to $450.00 if I remember correctly. I had mine painted but that was because I know a body guy that did it for 50 bucks.

Travist. Where did you get the ATS flares?

 

I've got 315's on a 16x10 rim with 4.5" of backspacing. My tires stick out at least an 1" from the side. I've only acquired one ding from them being out like that.

 

if i had 17x10's under my 04 with 4.5" backspacing, the wheels would stick out 3.5" more than stock...

stock wheels are 17x8 with 6" backspacing... not many aftermarket wheels with that much backspacing

 

I put ATS Flares on mine. Painted and delivered to the house was 400. I love them. They keep the crap off the sides and sure filled in for the HELO GUns with 285's I put on, though, they only stuck out a hair than stock.

 

Hey ATS flare guys.... can you get the flares painted from the factory???? If so is the paint quality good and have you had any chipping problems? They really look sweet!

Been thinking about Warn flares but I might have to change my mind!

I just ordered a set out of ATS flares out of a place in Coneticut. Tecnicly they dont sell to individuals but I found ATS's website and got there number and ATS refered me to them. They said I could get them painted or non painted $375 painted $275 non painted. I wish I had time to go with painted ones but that takes a few days more and I dont have that. I need them on the truck buy this weekend. So for now Ill have black flares on a silver truck. The real stickler was shiping. Normaly $45 dollars but to make sure they arive this week he sent them 3 day air, an additional $50. If I wasent leaving early next week for a 2000 mile round trip to Colorado I would have had them paint them and waited a week or so to get them. Oh well this way when I remove them to have them painted I am going to do the dore handels as well and mayby the mirrors. adventualy I want to find a wrecked sport my collor and get the painted grill and front bumper as well.

 

Papa, click on my photos. The paint was EXACT! My mouth dropped on how well they matched up. I had them on for about 8K and have been down alot of gravel roads. So far no chipping.
