HTT Turbo Suggestion
I am able to get a great deal on a HTT turbo. My question is weather or not a 64/71/13 ss is too big for my current mods? or should i go with a 64/65/13ss or possibly a 62/71/13ss. My truck is a daily driver. I don't tow, pull, or race. I'm basically looking for something that is going to be real quick on the street. I live in the country so most of the time i traveling between 45-65mph. Any help is appreciated...TIA

Get the 64/71/13ss and spend the extra $350-400 and get a good exhaust manifold.. The (BD branded but actually an ATS) manifold on mine made a HUGE difference in spool speed.. And cool off time when the motor is at idle (like waiting to shutdown)
I had the stock manifold for 2 weeks, then upgraded, and it was an immediately noticed difference in spool. I know its an extra bit of money but TOTALLY worth it in my book.

thanks for the info guys. i had originally considered a 62/71/13 but was afraid of running too hot whenever the standard tnt revo is released. would this be too small of a turbo? i'm basically looking for a 500-550hp daily driver. i would love to get an exhaust manifold but i don't think the old lady would understand the benefits as much as i would . i think for the time being i will limited to a turbo, then once she thinks that i've gotten my fix i'll hit her up for the exhaust manifold. On a side note: if i decide on twins down the road, would a 62/71/13 make a good secondary charger?

The 62 charger would do very well for you, even as a single. It will support what you want, and makes a perfect secondary in a set of twins. I am close to 500hp and can't push 1250*.

Oh, we do have Gizzmo elecctronic boost controllers on both of our trucks so I have her wastegate set to go at 48psi.. Turn the duty cycle on the Gizzmo up to 100% and it'll hit 54 psi. I think 48 is safe.

well you guys have me leaning more towards the 62/71/13. The way i see it is that if i do decide to go bigger in the future then i can send the turbo to HTT and have them upgrade it for me, or go all out and get twins. I'm really getting the itch to buy something but i can't until the IRS sends out those rebate checks. I should buy a furnace with that money but i NEED a turbo!

HTT has a nice manifold too. Not that ATS doesn't. One reason to consider the HTT manifold is that it is a tiny bit thinner at the bolt holes which allow a little more clearance if you should ever do twins then it can help for mounting the twins. If you're going with just a big single then by all means go with the ATS or whatever you want. MPI suggested the HTT to me when I got my twins and it made the install easier, FYI.
It's true though, the manifold really helps with spool up time.

Are you a tester? Nobody seems to have them in the stores and its not even on HTT's site... I would've considered them because I was buying an HTT Turbo at the same time..
Oh well.. The ATS/BD Manifold worked out real good for me and know for a fact that the spool time is definitely decreased by having it on there. Its not just a "think it's better" it's obvious and totally noticeable!
